In Bentley OpenUtilities Designer it is possible to build a hydraulic model of the water distribution network and exchange it with Bentley's hydraulic modeling products - WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, and HAMMER --or generate an EPANET input file for exchange with EPANET-compatible products.

The Interoperability tools can be accessed through the Water > Utilities > Export to WaterCAD/GEMS/Hammer and Water > Utilities > Export to EPANET menus.

The Interoperability tools can also be accessed from the Utilities toolbar:

When building and exporting hydraulic models for WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, or HAMMER, three options are available:

• Create a new hydraulic model
• Update an existing hydraulic model
• Update an existing hydraulic model with a child scenario

Exchanging hydraulic model information with EPANET compatible products is limited to generating a new input file on every export.
